Biography
Sebastien Tibackx discovered his passion for music at an early age. At just six, he began learning instruments and showed promising talent. By the age of twelve, he stepped on stage for the first time as the pianist in a Latin trio—a pivotal springboard in his artistic journey. Three years later, at fifteen, he had a decisive encounter with the bass guitar when he joined a pop-rock band. The instrument became his true calling, which he has explored with remarkable curiosity and versatility across a wide range of musical settings. At eighteen, Sebastien Tibackx was already sharing his knowledge as a teacher at CEM. He quickly stood out for his teaching abilities and, at just twenty-one, became Director of Education at the Jupo school, thereby solidifying his place in the world of music education.
In parallel, Seb has built an impressive career as a professional musician. In the studio, he has contributed to the recording of more than 500 released tracks, showcasing his technical mastery and adaptability across genres. On stage, with over 2,500 concerts to his name, he has won over audiences in a variety of contexts, from local venues to major halls and international events.
Sebastien Tibackx also excels in education as a coordinator and music teacher in middle and high schools, passing on his love of music to the younger generation. He leads numerous masterclasses alongside Hadrien Feraud, Étienne M’bappe, Linley Marthe, Pascal Mulot, Franck Hermmany, Romain Labaye, David Jacob, and others, and continues to inspire, evolve, and share his passion for music through ever more ambitious projects. Eager to share his musical vision, he devotes himself to personal projects that highlight his signature “slap-picking” technique, notably with the album “Ending journey across the world.”
