Biography

Laura Rouy started classical guitar at the age of 5 with her father, Pascal Rouy, jazz guitarist. She studied at the Music school in Le Mée Sur Seine with Christine Martin Culet and Carlos Marin, then entered the class of Gabriel Bianco and Antoine Fougeray at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory in Paris where she obtained in June 2018 the Diploma of Musical Studies.
 
Since 2019, she has been pursuing her bachelor at the Van Amsterdam Conservatory in the class of Gabriel Bianco.
 
She obtained the 1st Prize at the Arpoador international competition in Carry le Rouet (-20 years old) in 2017 and 2018, the 2nd Prize at the International Drôme Guitar Competition in Valence (also obtained in 2016 in the category -18 years old). In 2021, she won the Roland Dyens International Competition / Révélation Guitare Classique Magazine at the Paris Guitar Festival in Montrouge and is on the cover of the magazine.
 
She has performed in recital at many festivals : Arpoador Festival, Guitare Guitares Festival, Gitaristen Podium Online, Festival Guitare en France, Festival 6 cordes au fil de l'Allier, Festival Radio France Occitanie, Paris Guitar Festival, Festival Notes d'Écumes, Les Internationales de la Guitare, Festival Roland Dyens in the skaï etc.
 
She is also a chamber musician and forms Duo Canopée with cellist Pauline Ngolo.
