Biography

Originally from southern Corsica, Alix Guglielmi discovered the bass at 14 years old and initially learned as a self-taught musician, guided by an instinctive attraction to the instrument. Her passion led her to the Avignon Conservatory, where she obtained her DEM in 2013, then to the CEFEDEM in Lyon, where she earned her State Diploma as a Contemporary Music teacher in 2019, specializing in electric bass.

A versatile musician, Alix performs across a wide range of styles: pop, reggae, metal and prog, rock, electro, as well as neo-soul, a universe where she particularly develops her sensitivity and sense of groove. Her playing reflects her major influences, from Victor Wooten to Pino Palladino, through Flea, Marcus Miller, Meshell Ndegeocello, Derrick Hodge, Daniele Camarda (and many others), and is characterized by fluid, expressive musicality deeply rooted in rhythm.

She favors an extra-light gauge and trusts Savarez strings for their precision, exceptional feel, and ability to support her sonic exploration: an articulate, expressive and warm sound, equally suited to deep grooves and more melodic lines.
