Biography

A self-taught bassist, the impact of hearing Pastorius led him toward rigorous classical double bass studies. He gained diverse musical experience performing with various orchestras, including the Paris Opera, Limoges, Saint-Etienne, and the Orchestre Lamoureux. He has also participated in film score recordings. He has worked with Jean-Claude Vannier, toured with Jane Birkin, and spent five years working with Jérôme Savary, notably on the production of Cabaret.

As a member and founder of the Collectif’Nco alongside François Arnold, Tiboum Guignon, Manu Codjia, and François Thuillier, he founded Cavajazz in 1993. This organization later became SMAC 07, where he currently serves as co-president. He teaches jazz at the Saint-Etienne Conservatory.

In 2007, he collaborated with Alain Reynaud from the "Nouveaux Nez" clown company to create the show Le jazz fait son cirque, which was performed nearly 150 times over four years.

He founded Trio Barolo with Francesco Castellani and Eric Longworth, later joined by Rémy Poulakis and Daniel Zimmermann. Since 2013, the group has released three albums and performed several hundred concerts in France and abroad.

With the support of Présence Photographie and DRAC AURA, he created a photographic performance piece with photographer Anna Puig Rosado and musician Jean-Michel Souris.

Following a commission from the La nuit des ours festival in Vallorcines, he is currently working on the creation of a solo concert titled "Folk Songs."
