Biography
Baptiste Bouli Amstutz began playing guitar at the age of 15. At 20, he entered the pre-professional class at the EJMA in Lausanne. In 2010, he joined the professional class at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne and obtained his master's degree in education in 2017.
He is active on the Swiss and European music scene, notably at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paléo Festival, Gurten Festival, Les Docks, Dachstock, and others.
He is a versatile guitarist who performs in various groups playing a range of styles: rock, pop, hip-hop, funk, jazz, afrobeat, electronic, etc.
He currently plays with Gaspard Sommer (futuristic song), HMF (house), and Polar Circles (pop-rock). After releasing four EPs under the pseudonym babastutz, he is currently working on his online course project La Recap. He is active as a sideman, recording in the studio for various artists, producers, and composers. He teaches guitar at the EJMA in Lausanne and at the Conservatory of Fribourg.
