Biography

Born in 2000, this young jazz and gypsy jazz guitarist from Montpellier draws his influences from guitarists such as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, George Benson, and Bireli Lagrène.

For the past few years, Hugo has been building a promising national and international career (Django Reinhardt Festival 2019-2020-2021-2024, Django à Gogo Festival in New York and Los Angeles), as well as performing at numerous festivals across Europe (France, Spain, Germany, England).

Considered one of the new French representatives of jazz guitar, Hugo is known for his very fluid playing style, where there is never a single unnecessary note in his interpretation of standards.

He recorded his first album as a sideman in Costel Nitescu’s trio, alongside William Brunard and Dominique Di Piazza, and then recorded a co-led album with German guitarist Justin Geisler.

Hugo is currently preparing an album as a leader, as well as a duo project with Corsican guitarist Fanou Torrancinta.
