Biography

A refined and powerful soloist, this self-taught guitarist from Yonne (Burgundy) began playing at 17 after stumbling upon Django Reinhardt’s music. His lightning-fast playing and rare sensitivity make him one of the finest representatives of his generation, active on the international scene. He follows in the worthy footsteps of the great Django Reinhardt while bringing his own identity.

One thing audiences always remember after seeing him is the generosity of this Trio on stage. With a highly personal sound, Adrien Marco leaves his mark through a lively, airy, and precise playing style. He’s backed by an excellent and rock-solid rhythm section: Mathieu Chatelain on rhythm guitar and Claudius Dupont on double bass. The lineup also includes Julien Cattiaux on rhythm guitar and Costel Nitescu on violin when the Trio expands into a Quintet!

Continuing its evolution, the Trio is now regarded as a reference in the Gypsy Jazz/Swing style.

Adrien Marco’s group is also releasing a fourth album (LIVE). They felt a strong desire to capture a live exchange on stage before an audience of 300. The repertoire is built around Django Reinhardt’s music, with the urge to put their own stamp on it and include never-before-released covers and original compositions. For this new album recorded in concert, the Trio is joined by fellow musician friends, showcasing the full breadth of their repertoire.

Increasingly praised by discerning audiences, the guitarist has performed at venues and festivals such as the Luthiers’ Stage at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Fontainebleau, Django à Gogo (New York), Djangofestivalen (Oslo), Django at Dewslake (UK), the Pennabilli Festival (Italy), and the Worms Festival (Germany).
