Rowland G Schultz began playing flamenco guitar as a young boy, being accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium yet chose to attend The Newtown Performing Arts School in Sydney Australia. 

He went on to be known as the Flamenco Artist ‘El Vikingo’ and then 'Vikingo de Jerez' in Australia, a self-taught flamenco guitarist steeped in the pure Gypsy style. 

A sorrowful lyricism courses through his compositions, while he performs with a high technical facility, touring Australia twice with his debut album 'Buleriando - Vikingo de Jerez' audiences were thrilled and spellbound by performances of such ferocious power and originality as have never been heard of in Australia.

After a life dedicated to the Gypsy Arts he also became known as 'The Traveller King' for his originality in Flamenco and Poetry winning his local Bookoccino Poetry Slam 2025, receiving NSW Parliament Community Recogition Statement for his Music and Poetry : Ms Jacqui Scruby MP Pittwater. 

In tough pre-Covid times he spent years on the streets of Sydney to support his family as a professional busker. Since 2020, studying UK Folk singing and Poetry, incl a short stint on steel string with Fenech Guitar, returning in 2026 to his roots on nylon flamenco guitar.
